To get the key, go to the second story of the coffee shop. Click on the Tales and Stories.
You will find many great books that I recommend taking a look at. I used to read them al the time when I was younger. They basically taught me how to type.
Next click on the journal of captain Rockhopper. If you want to read the whole journal, be my guest. However, you will find the key on the very last page of this journal. So click away!
This key will help you open RH's captain quarters found on his ship: The Migrator.
When he visits with his ship, you can only treasure hunt inside his quarters. So make sure to get the key before then. It can also be used as a pin on your player card.

Off topic, but I wonder if Herbert ever feels jealous of Rockhopper. Since he sails away from club penguin island all the time. Herbert should one day sneak into his ship or something.
